Day 5 - Barcelona: Plaza Catalunya, Las Ramblas, La Barceloneta, and El Borne.
Walking through Barcelona: Plaza Catalunya, Las Ramblas, La Barceloneta, and El Born.

Today I recommend starting your tour after breakfast at Plaza Catalunya (https://goo.gl/maps/oMhuDDbkH37q1v3s5). This square is where most locals and tourists gather and is very well connected by metro or bus.

Immediately after visiting Plaza Catalunya, we will head towards the sea through the famous street known as "La Rambla". This is the most famous street in Barcelona and separates two of the city's most famous neighborhoods, El Barrio Gotico and El Raval.

Take it easy because there are usually many tourists and a lot of hustle and bustle. There are many artists performing and people stop to watch.

On La Rambla you will find La Boqueria Market (https://g.page/la-boqueria-barcelona?share). This is the most famous market in Barcelona and is a good place to have a sandwich or a beer.

You may want to leave La Rambla to visit the Gothic Quarter and El Raval. El Raval was somewhat dangerous a few years ago, security has improved a lot but keep your eyes open.

In the Gothic Quarter, you will find Plaza del Pi, the Basilica of Santa Maria del Pi, the Cathedral of the City, Plaza Real, and Plaza de Joaquin Xiaru.

In El Raval, you will find La Boqueria Market, Plaza de Sant Agusti, and Plaza de Sant Josep. Another important place not to be missed is the Botero Cat Statue (https://goo.gl/maps/USmBcfMaPCyShPDD6) in Rambla del Raval Park.

Enjoy walking along La Rambla to the end where you will find the Christopher Columbus Statue. This is a very symbolic point of the city as it is located next to the sea. After taking a picture with Christopher Columbus, turn left and walk along Paseo de Colon.

At the end of Paseo de Colon, there are two other neighborhoods you can visit, La Barceloneta and El Borne. As you can see, it is a long day and there are many things to visit.

I recommend starting by visiting La Barceloneta, but before that, you can rest a bit in Citadel Park (https://goo.gl/maps/aHS2D4Aew3C6KTwZ6) or go to the beach in La Barceloneta. Once you have recharged your energy, take a stroll there visiting the Maremagnum shopping center, the Aquarium, or the History Museum.

I recommend visiting these places as you pass by and not entering because visits to the Museum and the Aquarium take quite a long time.

We continue our walk towards El Borne. There are several things to see in this neighborhood such as the Church of Santa Maria del Mar, the Picasso Museum (the visit takes time), the Santa Catarina Market, and the incredible Palau de la Musica.

At the end of the day, return to Plaza Catalunya and walk north along Passeig de Gracia. This street is full of fabulous shops and restaurants.

Summary
