Tour My Best Tour to San Miguel de Allende
For those who like nature and open space these are in my opinion the best activities to check out in San Miguel de Allende.
Parque el Charco del Ingenio – This park is some minutes away from San Miguel de Allende’s historic center. The park has a lot of local plants that represent the original flora of the area. There are many types of cactus and the walk is very nice. The entrance has a cost of 50 pesos for tourists. Take water and sun protection because it might get very hot. Do not foreget your camara to take pictues of the local flora.
Visit one of the surrounding Wineries – Wine has never been Mexico’s strength. But recently there has been a huge interest in wine production in El Bajio region.
San Miguel de Allende is part of El Bajio and there are wineries in the surrounding that I can recommend you visit. If you are a wine sage you will enjoy it a lot, and if you are not you will too, because the places are amazing, and the food is delicious.
I will share my favorite wineries with those that book one of my itineraries with this activity.
San Miguel de Allende has been declared as one of the Best Cities in the world by renown magazines such as Travel + Leisure (San Miguel de Allende Was Voted the Best in the World for the 2nd Year in a Row | Travel + Leisure (travelandleisure.com) and Conde Nast Traveler (https://www.cntraveler.com/galleries/2014-10-20/top-25-cities-in-the-world-readers-choice-awards-2014). Beating great contestants such as Monte Carlo, Salzburg and Florence.
I have wondered around the town with my friends since I was 18 years old. I know San Miguel de Allende like the palm of my hand. In fact, I am writing this itinerary from San Miguel de Allende in the house of my best friend locked down during COVID-19. I will be here at least for one month.
I know that there are many travel articles and itineraries about San Miguel de Allende. My challenge is to do the best travel itinerary to San Miguel de Allende. This city is so wonderful that I could just advise you to let your feet take you anywhere and you will surely find fantastic places.
This itinerary is designed for people that like architecture, culture, and gastronomy.
After one month of being here I have decided that the best things to do are: 1) Dedicate one day to walk around San Miguel de Allende (maybe two), 2) do a daytrip to Guanajuato and, 3) visit a vineyard or the Parque El Charco del Ingenio.
Gastronomy is a big thing in San Miguel de Allende. Before COVID-19 new restaurants appeared all the time. Today only the best have survived. I do not advise you in the itineraries where to eat at any particular time. Instead, I have prepared a small guide with my favorite restaurants that will be revealed upon making a booking.
